Since we manage this website, it wouldn’t be fair for it to be in our rankings. We believe “RF” has a long way to go, and will continue to bring the site closer to our goal of providing the best management center for fighters and MMA businesses around New England and the world. At the end of this summer (2011) you will see a lot of new features at RF, which we expect fans and fighters to enjoy a lot. We’re also finishing development on a new top secret portal that will benefit MMA management greatly.

•) NorthEastMMA.net
We’d have to give NorthEastMMA.net a good review for one reason: content. They continuously update fans with current, important information- including but not limited to Reviews, Press Releases, Standings, and General News. This year they updated their website’s look as well, bringing them out of the stone-ages (design-wise) and giving them a look that they deserve. Although not the most elaborate look as far as design goes, it serves it’s purpose. Keep doing your thing NorthEastMMA!

•) FightingTruth.com
Mildly impressive for such a young website, The Fighting Truth has brought a new light into MMA, and we enjoy it. They claim the truth for all their articles (except those marked as otherwise), and most of their articles prove true. One thing we’d like to see, is more fact-checking on reasons fighters drop out of fights, because “scared” a lot of the times, isn’t the final reason. We’d have to throw that opinion aside though, because it would be tough to prove actual reasons, and any “scared” fighter would make something up. Cudos to “TFT” for being the balls of local MMA. Update your design a little.

•) WesternMassMMA.com
Another content beast, hailing from Western Massachusetts, would be the MMA blog “WesternMassMMA.” Westernmass does a great job of putting out live updates, great news, and promotion announcements. They have a decent header graphic, and a Google blogger-style format. The only thing we’d like to see with them do is be more themselves…think of something new. They seem to take their ideas from other websites. Frequency of updates taken from NorthEastMMA.net, Live Updates taken from RegisteredFighter.com, and Fighter Spotlights taken from FightingTruth.com. Their “Western” name is also confusing, because they are all over the place, not just “Western Mass.”All in all, their passion for the game outshines these downfalls, and we look forward to seeing them progress.

•) Boston Herald – Inside the Octagon
Writer Mark Daniels does a great job of capturing most things going on in local MMA. Not only does he report on the happenings inside local promotions, but he also follows New England fighters who have made it “big-time,” such as Joe Lauzon and John Howard. The design of the site, of course, would be at a minimum, but the “BostonHerald.com Sports” logo backing you up, makes all that  wash away.

•) NEMMANews.com
New England MMA News is, to us, a miniature NorthEastMMA.net. As basic a design as you can get, it’s event result usually follow the same platform – W & L’s, but nothing pretty. They do, however, do a good job sometimes with their news articles. We recommend their big-brother (not related in any fashion) mentioned above.

•) CTMMANews.com
A spin-off of NEMMANews.com, CTMMANews is a hot mess, minus the hot. The news is dated, doesn’t come out very often, and the website is in basic form. We understand websites need some time in the sand-box, and maybe this one is still in there. They have a lot of work to do before they go anywhere near the public. That being said, we love seeing more New England MMA websites come out, but keep in mind, please..please make them different from all the rest. Also, don’t pull a WesternMassMMA and call your site “CT” but not feature Connecticut. Stick to what your website says it is, for the best results.

•) Sherdog Event Search
We’d have to give the veteran MMA news website “Sherdog” the upper hand for having the best event search platform, better than those that cater specifically to North East mixed martial arts. An “events search” (as well as fighter profile) up-and-comer to mention would also be “Tapology,” who’s system mimics that of a unique social network.

Starlet Beautique is a beauty boutique (hence the name) located in Andover, Massachusetts. The parlor is run by Nichole Little, a veteran aesthetician and beauty expert. She has done her dues in the hair, make-up, skin, health, and beauty world, and decided to open her own business about 2 years ago. I have not come across one bad review of her nor her place, and for good reason..

Nichole is a kind-hearted, joy-filled woman who is only looking out for her clients well-being..and of course, their beauty! In getting to know her, it’s safe to say she is a complete perfectionist, but presents that the most mild way possible, which doesn’t overwhelm her clientele in the slightest. On her off-time, you’ll find Nichole running a trail, doing a Warrior Dash, or preparing for her next hike. During her on-time, you’ll find her doing make-up at prestigious fashion shows, giving a local lady a complete beauty pampering, or running her successful business in the downtown area.

Her unique eye definitely spawns from children first. At her beginning, she seemed to focus her efforts on child photo shoots, baby showers, and all things similar. She then began to spread her portfolio outwards, impressing critics and blowing away clients.

“We weren’t expecting to see our photos so quickly, and then on Facebook, we were tagged in a nice suprise!” one of her clients said. Brit puts 10 or less photos from each shoot on her Facebook page, and her fans adore them. Happy clients, eagerly waiting fans, and beautifully-done artwork can only make for one thing: success!

We look forward to watching Brit do big things in the world she definitely belongs in!

We were approached by Atsco to design a new catalog website for them. The website was to feature a catalog they could easily update via an admin area. The design was supposed to turn their dated site into a modern, professional platform. We accomplished our goals through a splash-type home page, and a sleek inner catalog that features their shoes uniquely.
